February - March Catch Up! London Fashion Weekend & new things

I managed to stop playing Tiny Tower long enough to write this blog entry...Seriously, this game is addictive...go download this now to witness the pixelated glory.

At the end of Feb I went to London Fashion Weekend with a friend from work, and it was amazing! I never knew this existed somehow but I'm so glad I found out about it.
Somerset House, London

The lovely Lisa Snowdon

I picked up a really nice red leather wallet from Jaeger Boutique for £15! (Down from £85)

I really need to fix my posture when I'm sitting down at work cause I hunch and then my lower back hurts...So I found this ridiculously cute owl pillow to shove behind me! This was from Cargo - £14

After not having much luck with a new bag I bought from TK Maxx, I went back and exchanged it for this gorgeous leather tote by Edina Ronay! - £59

It has a lot of room on the inside for everything including an umbrella... 1 top zip -  inside it has 1 large zippered pocket and 2 other smaller pockets for knickknacks (back of bag is tan). The leather is very soft and feels like a sturdy bag...hoping it lasts longer than the other one I had (mock croc bag by Osprey).

My final purchase this month was....a Kindle....
First, hear me out! Please!

Any one who knows me personally will know that I never wanted one. I LOVE books and couldn't imagine ever reading a book on a Kindle. But I have a love affair with technology and couldn't deny that it's a cool gadget. Nor could I deny lugging around books in my purse all the time was heavy and a pain in the ass.
After much thought I took the plunge and bought one...and...I love it!
No, I'm not going to stop reading real books, but I will choose the special ones that I love to purchase i.e. my vintage book collection (The Happy Hollisters circa 1950) and the classics.

Overall, I really think having a Kindle is great. I can take it to work and read without weighing down my purse as it's only 170 grams and as thin as a pencil! I actually read faster using this because you can "turn the pages" extremely fast and reading in bed is great cause you lie down on one side and stay there.

So for all the anti-Kindle people out there, I strongly recommend that you check one out because you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.  Especially for someone who loves to read constantly and takes book out of the house.
This model retails for £89.

Goodbye for now Lancome Bi-facil....and hello cheaper alternative

I thought I had tried them all. Knew what was out there. But once again I was pleasantly surprised by a product. God knows I adore Lancome. They're one of my favourite brands out there. I do still love Bi-facil, but my wallet doesn't (£20)... To be perfectly honest, I'd rather take most of the money I spend on it and put it towards a new product. That's where this next product comes in....

Boots No 7 Beautiful Skin Eye Makeup Remover....£7.75

This took my waterproof mascara (L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes) off with ease. No rubbing or scrubbing...Just lightly soaked a cotton pad and pressed it over my lashes for 10-20 seconds and voila! This IS an oily remover (half oil, half solution, shake before using) just to warn you. Although, these are the best removers because you need to be able to melt your makeup completely off your eyes. Sleeping with any mascara on is a bit gross. This didn't bother my contact lenses either just so ya know.

My new discovery excited me so much I needed to let you know ASAP in case you were on the look out for an alternative as well. Now go out and get this new eye makeup remover. NOW. Go now before someone else reads this and then before you know it they're flying off the shelves and you're pushing a soccer mom out of the way to get one. ;)

Glossybox - January 2012!

Glossybox is finally here again and in a super cute hot pink box!! This is the special edition Valentine's Day box =) Don't forget to click on the pictures to enlarge them!

I love this little heart sticker! And the grey ribbon is a nice color combo with the pink

Amazing products!! I can't wait to try them
Their own Glossybox rock candy! So adorable

A midnight blue pencil eyeliner from Eyeko

All in all I'm so pleased with this special box! I'm the most excited about the Clarins products but I'm sure I'll be impressed with the others as well.
I love the different colors of pink that were used plus the colors of the products that really popped against that bubblegum shade of paper shredding. And that rock candy was such a cute touch! Really feels like a pampering Valentine's Day gift =) What a great start to my week!
